| “Celebrity Chef Aldo Zilli
Open’s New Restaurant
at The Blazing Donkey” |
Celebrity Chef, Author & Restaurateur Aldo Zilli Open’s New Restaurant at The Blazing Donkey Country Hotel, near Sandwich in Kent

Samphire at Ham, a new restaurant situated at the charming Blazing Donkey Country Hotel near Sandwich in Kent, takes it’s name from the now-fashionable ‘sea vegetable’; it’s an apt title for a restaurant serving exciting modern food based on locally sourced ingredients. The result of a £150,000 “facelift”, the restaurant was officially opened by London-based Italian celebrity chef & restaurateur Aldo Zilli on Saturday 2nd February 2008. |
|
Zilli took time out of his busy schedule (he has just launched his autobiography “Being Zilli”) to join 60 invited guests and The Mayor of Sandwich to celebrate the opening of the stunningly appointed new eatery. He spent much of the early evening in the kitchens with Steve Hogben-Lambert (Head Chef) and after addressing invited guests he signed copies of his new autobiography.

“Richard & Sherry’s vision and their obvious passion for food and wine is really evident here-they have created something really special at The Blazing Donkey and I’m thrilled to have been invited to officially open their new restaurant”. |

Dining at Samphire Restaurant is a feast of variety. Steve Hogben-Lambert’s menus are inspired from the high quality locally available produce and change with the seasons. The restaurant is open all week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At the weekends the restaurant is open all day-booking is essential though.

Luxurious leather seating, generously sized oak dining tables, and elegant professional staff is what you expect upon arriving at Samphire restaurant as a guest. In the winter, garlanded Kentish hops and crackling log fires provide the atmosphere and in the warmer Summer months meals can be taken on the terrace overlooking the gardens. Samphire restaurant is truly a place for all seasons.
